Toloma 5K
EJIE co-sponsors this annual 5K run recognition of the tradition among idigenous tribe of California to engage in distance running for the purpose of communication and competition. Members of local tribes and residents of the greater Merced community are invited to participate and run through a campus course that includes passing beneath the "Beginnings" sculpture, crossing over the Scholars Bridge and passing by the Toloma Grove Native acknowledgement and reflection area. Monies raised are directed to the support of Native American student scholarshops and programming.
